Week 4 - Ring That Bell!

It’s still cold, it’s still icy, the wind is still biting, but none of it mattered this week as the sun was finally shining for at least some of our training runs! Well for those that we completed in the day time anyway!

Lissi had a recovery week this week so has been working on a reduced km load, while Weeman has been testing out his new trainer contenders in the run up to the Warwick Half Marathon and Daz was enjoying finally having a week with no illness to hold him back!

We’ve all been on the strength workouts this week and Daz and Lissi have added in some his and hers Pilates during the first month of this training plan. Lissi’s dedication to Pilates has been better than the short lived Yoga trial, where she continuously uttered the phrase “I really don’t know why my watch is running for this!”. Daz has banned all Pilates photos from the site!

Speaking of watches, Weeman ran into some technical difficulties in the form of the Garmin outage when his watch died just as he was setting off on a new trainer trial run! Those of you that have been following his WhatsApp Updates, will have seen that as far as Hoka’s go, they’re not the most exciting of colours, but still and I quote, “Solid, dependable, improvement on the 8s.” (If Hoka want to send some sponsorship our way for advertising, we’d be ever so grateful!)

The big news from Week 4 of this Marathon Training Plan is that it has been PB central for the boys! Daz completed his 24km progressive long run with a PB in the half marathon at 2hrs 4 minutes and 52 seconds! 🎉Those of you that have been following Weeman on Strava will know he smashed his PB time at the Warwick Half Marathon, with the seriously impressive time of 1hr, 47 minutes and 47 seconds. 💪An awesome week of marathon training for Daz and Weeman.
