Week 2
Week two included some experimentation, a return from illness and a slight time telling mishap.
Weeman (or Darren, if you’re Lissi writing this!) covered a massive 44.77km across his 4 runs and even squeezed in a 21km bike ride.
Daz, returning from illness, took the wise choice to miss out his “fast interval run” and instead chose to complete a 7.2km steady run, with plenty of snot to add to the challenge 🤢.
Lissi’s week included an 8km long run. In life before the infamous foot injury, 8km would have been an easy run distance, however, this week it marked the furthest Lissi had run since September and hopefully a positive step in the right direction towards longer distances.
The cold weather continued to play havoc with morning runs, with Lissi complaining about the cold wind burning the inside of her nose, while Weeman and Daz had to compete with foggy conditions in the evenings. As part of his 3 runs this week Daz completed his first half marathon in a while, culminating in a run up Toft hill to finish. For those of you that are not local, Toft hill is not a hill you want to run up after 20km!
